Nonconference Record: 2-8, for an ungodly 2-17 ledger through two weeks. Ouch.
Good Wins: Drury clearly had the most dramatic victory, a 5 overtime thriller over LaGrange.
Bad Wins: None
Good Losses: Principia’s loss to Sewanee was respectable, and much closer than expected. The Panthers led 24-13 into the 4th quarter.
Bad Losses: Westminster, a fairly high seed in Big River, fell to 0-2 after getting slapped around by Mount Senario.

Conference Round-up: Chapman moved past Claremont, though this game was tied heading into the 4th quarter.
Nonconference Record: 4-5
Good Wins: Pomona took a shutout into the 4th quarter vs a disappointing F&M squad, while adding a safety to the usual scoring mix. Don’t look now, but the Sagehens are 2-0 and looking pretty solid.
Bad Wins: None
Good Losses: Whittier, as a 19-point underdog, was tied with Dickinson through three quarters. Westmont surrendered the decisive score with minutes to play.
Bad Losses: Azusa gave up the winning score to Montclair with no time remaining. La Verne fell into a 0-28 abyss, fought back to within seven, then let it get away again.

Conference Round-up: Susquehanna took a 16-0 halftime lead against Bethany and cruised in.
Nonconference Record: 4-5
Good Wins: Waynesburg is off to an excellent 2-0 start. The Yellowjackets were up 28-0 after one quarter, eased up, then pulled away for a convincing victory over La Verne.
Bad Wins: Geneva was pitching a shutout at the half, yet bogged down in the 2nd half.
Good Losses: None
Bad Losses: In high-profile games, Carnegie-Mellon and Westminster came up decidedly short. St Vincent was embarrassed by a first-year program.

Conference Round-up: Randolph-Macon over Wash & Lee in – let’s be honest – a lackluster effort by both squads.
Nonconference Record: 4-4
Good Wins: Bridgewater rolled over Westfield after giving up an early FG. Roanoke is 2-0 in their inaugural season on the gridiron, and looking fantastic. The Maroons buried St Vincent, holding the Bearcats out of the endzone until the final moments of the game.
Bad Wins: Hampden-Sydney faced the very real prospect of being upset by Hiram…and it would have been a huge upset.
Good Losses: Guilford led Catholic 45-42 late 4th quarter, and blocked the PAT on the Cardinals’ final score. The Quakers played a good game. Lynchburg played reasonably well against a far superior foe.
Bad Losses: E&H could not close the gap against Concordia WI. The safety they yielded in the 1st quarter was deafening at the end.

Conference Round-up: Christopher Newport handled Allen pretty much as expected.
Nonconference Record: 5-4
Good Wins: Knoxville traded scores with Louisiana College all game before exerting dominance in the 4th. Greensboro held off Fitchburg in a stalwart effort.
Bad Wins: Maryville had some issues vs Madison.
Good Losses: None
Bad Losses: Methodist played horribly and got crunched. Shenandoah-Paterson was pure ugliness.

Conference Round-up: Salve Regina, in need of some good news, handled Nichols without much drama.
Nonconference Record: 4-5
Good Wins: Curry game-planned excellently for Cortland, and followed it up with an immaculate performance on the field. Mass Maritime got their season opened on the right foot vs Belhaven.
Bad Wins: None
Good Losses: Endicott forced Buff St to kick a lot of field goals, took a 16-12 lead, but couldn’t deal the deathblow.
Bad Losses: Norwich was buried by a hot Rhodes team clicking on all cylinders.

Conference Round-up: Colby-Sawyer vs Connecticut College experienced more mood swings than a manic-depressive ward in a psychiatric hospital. To wit: Chargers led 37-14 >> 40-35 at half >> Camels led 49-40 >> final of 53-49 Chargers. Fans needed Dramamine to get through this one. It was also a clear illustration of what college football could/should be.
Nonconference Record: 5-3
Good Wins: NE Massachusetts demolished Waldorf, and Franklin Pierce prevailed in OT by blocking Salem State’s PAT. Eastern Connecticut looked fun & exciting in their victory over Webster.
Bad Wins: None
Good Losses: None
Bad Losses: New Hampshire State is expected to lose to established schools, yet it’s not a good look when you kick 6 field goals while your opponent is scoring touchdowns.

Conference Round-up: Morrisville went up 26-0, actually fell behind, then scored the final 10 points to beat Oneonta.
Nonconference Record: 2-6, for a two-week mark of 3-15. Gee willickers.
Good Wins: Brockport raced out to a 28-0 lead on Martin Luther.
Bad Wins: Buffalo St led Endicott 12-3 at one point…all field goals.
Good Losses: When the majority of your teams are new programs, it is hard to find fault with losses, but…
Bad Losses: …when your flagship program is 0-2 to start the season, it’s time to worry. Cortland, as a 24-point favorite, got outplayed on all flanks by Curry.

Bad Wins: None
Good Losses: Hiram, as a 31-point underdog, led Hampden-Sydney until midway through the 4th quarter. The upset was a real possibility.
Bad Losses: Denison did not fare thee well, trailing 7-21 after one quarter and surrendering a safety.

Good Wins: Catholic, down 42-45 late, scored the winning touchdown, had the PAT blocked, yet held on for the dramatic win. Gettysburg dominated the 1st half and rolled to victory.
Bad Wins: Hopkins was twice down by 14 points…to Anderson. Dickinson was tied at 13 with Whittier through three quarters. Two underwhelming efforts.
Good Losses: None
Bad Losses: McDaniel was rarely in their game, but F&M has to be the most disappointing team in the Chesapeake. The Diplomats were shut out by Pomona through three quarters while giving up a safety. They look awful so far.

Conference Round-up: In a tight match-up, Tufts beat Colby 10-3. The only touchdown of the game came in the 4th quarter.
Nonconference Record: 5-2, for a two-week mark of 14-4. I’d say the NESCAC has adapted quite well to playing nonconference schedules.
Good Wins: Williams didn’t allow Carnegie-Mellon to cross the goal line until the 4th quarter, by which time the Ephs were comfortably ahead. Bowdoin looked like champions, albeit against a new program.
Bad Wins: Middlebury continued with their uninspiring performances in a win over Olivet. Through two weeks, the Panthers are the only NESCAC team who look bad.
Good Losses: None
Bad Losses: None

Nonconference Record: 8-1, now 13-4 through two weeks.
Good Wins: Montclair and Stockton both scored very late to secure wins, with the Red Hawks score coming with no time on the clock. Rowan beat Millsaps handily, and look like what we thought they’d be.
Bad Wins: Kean and Paterson were not as impressive, yet are both 2-0.
